POLICIES PROCEDURES GUIDELINES
All MYFA cheer protocols are guided by our governing bodies: Wadsworth Youth Football Association, Ohio High School Athletic Association, Ohio Association of Cheerleading Coaches and our Insurance Risk Management policies.
Special circumstances do arise. Discuss any requests, concerns and questions with your Director.
MYFA fields cheer squads that range in size for each squad, each level. We do prefer a cap of 30 girls per squad and a minimum of 6. Larger squads allow for the presence of a team on a football field 100 yards long. The larger squads give the girls a better head start on learning team comraderie, conflict resolution skills and accepting diversity and fairness. MYFA trains the largest number of cheerleaders in Medina and trains them well.
MYFA Cheerleaders fill the scholastic rosters from 50 to even 90% in some years. We are very proud of this and our girls. They have learned to be true leaders with a cheerful attitute, self-motivation and the perserverance it takes to win at life. Our girls are skilled athletes and carry their MYFA training well into their upper school years.
You'll also see Colts and Mustangs Cheer alumni on dance teams, drill teams and pom teams. Our collegiate MYFA have cheered/danced not only their Middle schools and High School, but for: Ohio State University, Bowling Green University, Capital University, Ball State, Baldwin Wallace, University of Akron, Univ of Toledo, Wright State and more.
Our skilled alum cheerleaders also teach and coach at schools and gyms and at Cheer industry Professional instructional camp companies..
MYFA is proud to boast the accomplishments of our league as published in American Cheerleader magazine as one of our cheerleaders was honored amongst cheerleaders throughout the country.

Good Luck to all the Medina High School Senior Cheerleaders and our former Colts and Mustangs Cheerleaders as you get ready to embark on your college careers and life in the workplace.
Thank you for your recognition to the Colts and Mustangs at your Senior Football farewell Banquet. You have truly become role models and shared the MYFA philosophies of HEART, PRIDE & DISCIPLINE with those around you. Hat's off to all of you!
Thank you to all of the student-coaches who return each year to help perfect our girls routines and technical skills. We hope you learn as much as they do. Volunteering your time and giving back is a true character trait of the Colts and Mustangs Organization. Don't forget to pick up a log sheet for your community service points for your school transcript.

MHS Youth Night/Community Spirit Night Aug 27
We will be cheering on the track/sidelines alongside the Medina High School Cheerleaders at a Friday night Varsity Football game. Be in Full Dress Uniform at MHS Stadium at 7:00 or earlier. The MHS JV and Varsity cheerleading squads will come to Greenwood on Thursday 9/11 at 6pm to run our practice . You will learn a chant to perform during 3rd quarter at the game 9/12.
IMPORTANT LOGISTICS: The youth girls will be called down to the track before half-time to line up according to squad. MHS JV will greet the girls on the track. They will walk down the track and perform what they learned. After all the youth have performed they will be released at the end of the track. (into the crowd). MHS cheerleaders are not responsible for your youth cheerleaders. Please make sure your parents know they need to make arrangements after they perform to meet them at the end of the track.
This a huge deal for the youth cheerleaders. Wear your team colors and logos to the game.
